Flammable NatureBrendon always remembers the details.   
His first kiss: he was wearing his Bright Eyes t-shirt, jeans with a hole in the left knee, glasses. They were touring. He never told anyone that he’d never kissed a girl. (He never told them that he’d never kissed a boy, either, but they assumed that anyway.) It was two days after he met Audrey. They had a double-date planned with Jac and Ryan. Spencer’s hair was long – past his chin, almost to his shoulders.

Spiderwebs“How much do you love me?”   
 
There is a certain dampness to the air inside the house that seems to stay throughout the year. Sand is a permanent resident on the floor, in between the floorboards and under the white wicker furniture. The windows all open side-to-side and let in the cool salt breeze from the ocean. It makes the house feel like a sanctuary during the summer, like home during the winter.   
Each step in the staircase creaks its own tune; the sinks all drip a constant melody, pipes moaning bass notes into the night. Just being inside the house makes Brendon’s fingers itch to write music. Spiderwebs

Fast ForwardThe city is gray and rainy, mid-afternoon and almost-dark underneath the clouds. Raindrops fall sporadically every few seconds, here-and-there, like the clouds can’t decide if they want to break open here or a mile down the road. Standing on the damp balcony, leaning against the railing, hair in his yes, Brendon raises the cigarette to his lips. He takes a pull and the heat that rushes through his chest is invigorating. He wants to do something.   
He puts the cigarette out in the ashtray sitting on the comically-small patio table and goes inside. The hotel air is crisp and dry, almost-stale, and the taste in his lungs is somet Fast Forward

Homesick Like Phone CallsIt’s been a long day. They finished tracking all of the drums for the first half of the album, finally, and Spencer’s muscles are tense, half-excited for the release and half-tired from all the energy that was spent. He’s tired, but not like he could sleep. Not yet. He throws his jacket down onto the couch, toes off his shoes and leaves them there, in the middle of the floor. He checks the time.   
Brendon will be home by now. Dallon will be there with him. Maybe they’ll be playing Guitar Hero or Mario Kart. Maybe they’ll be drinking beer, laughing. Brendon gets giggly when he’s tired. Spencer checks hi Homesick Like Phone Calls

a long way outIf too many stumbles and falls can break your ankle or your face or your hand, then what does an actual trip break? Because, see, I've seen some shit. Some serious shit. The ninth color in the eight pack of standard crayons. The moon smiling at me from right at the decorative spike of my balcony. I've seen my ex-girlfriend strip at a party for a rock of crack. Me, I can safely say that I have seen it all. Maybe I didn't see all this with bones in place, with my mind intact, but that doesn't mean I saw it any less. If anything - if anything I only saw it that much more.

Break It UpIt's been there forever, the crack in the front door. Somebody - the previous owner or renter - slammed the door too hard, threw something at the door too hard, hit the door too hard, and from the middle glass window, a crack slides down the wood in a zig-zagging line, like a chart of descending popularity. The crack, it's not deep enough to let the cold in, but enough for the heat to get stuck in the wood. They fixed everything else that needed to be fixed in the house. But they left the front door handicapped. A little fragile. When something is threatening to stay forever, it's hard to fix it.

I had nightmares last night, which, honestly, that seems to be a normal thing at this point, so.

I joined Netflix a few weeks ago. So far, I've watched Milk, Hard Candy, and I have The Day After Tomorrow to watch tonight while I'm waiting for Kristy to get off work. (My life. So boring.)

Two of my cats are sick. One definitely has Feline Bartonella and we're testing the other today for the same thing. It's not contagious to other cats, which is good, seeing as how I have five total.

I'm doing alright. Alot has happened since you left Baker. I don't know if you were there or know that I was dating Ben Lewis, if you know him. The relationship didn't turn out good. Dating a new guy now, Tyler Thorn, a.k.a. Nerd Alert. He's such a sweetheart. I'm 18 now and miss you so much! I can't believe you're moving to Pittsburgh after I found you after these couple of years. It sucks! We need to get together sometime. As for your Photography, congrats! Keep it up...if you hit it big go half with me! Just kidding. I'm turing out to be a painter and a poet here on dA instead of sketching and other stuff. Got bored easily. Have some comics that are gonna be up soon!
